chilli plants

It all dies! I must have planted like four trays full of stuff. Sprouts, carrots, onions, garlic chives and lemon corriandor, sweet chilli and peppers, tomatoes, sweet peas and even CRESS.
It all dies! I’m watering it like a little everyday, making sure there’s sunlight and even warmth. Even used that miracle grow stuff. I heard it’ll make anything grow but it didn’t help me at all. All my sweet seedlings just died. They were all peeping out of the soil and almost at around 4 inches for most of them…
It’s sad, because I’m moving to a new house and I really wanted to be all green-fingered. Even ordered this huge greenhouse. Set aside like half the ground for vegetables…

What the helllll. Have I the bad touch? Can anyone help?

Also- if I left grass, and never cut it, how high would it grow? Why doesn’t anybody leave their grass and not cut it? I’m imagining that it will turn into a giant green yard-sized cushion for me to nap away the summer in. Is that all it is? A fantasy? :[

ive just got a little chilli rose, a baby. but im more worried its going to bite than a grown an trained one…..

ive got 3 questions…..m stuck up..!!plz help…!!

Hi I asking this question because I have bought habanero red strain 3 from reimer seeds. The plant produces 1 inch 1/2 long and 1 inch 1/2 wide chilli fruit. But this without fertlizer because I want my habanero peppers to be larger and hotter because the chilli fruit that are small dont taste hot. About how many times larger will habanero chillies be If I root blast fertilizer or the earthbox fertlizer. I would like to know a measurment based in inches in length and width. thanks

400 watt ballast socket?

Chilli Plants

Well I just purchased a new ballast and am planning to build a greenhouse for the tomatoes and chilli peppers I’ve got growing and I’ve been told that the metal halide is great for vagetative and flowering and with winter on its way I have no other choice so I purchased a 400 watt Electronic Digital Switchable Grow Light not knowing it would only come with the power cord and light cord and not the socket.

The specs are as fallows:
120v/input Current 3.52A
50Hz/60Hz/Power Factor:>0.9
Total Luminous Flux:>41,000Lm /Energy Saving:30%
Harmonic Distortion:<10% /Crest Factor:<1.7
Frequency (Hz):25kHz ~ 100kHz/Loss of Input Watts (%):<10%

So my question is what type of socket would I need to purchase? I dunnot want to purchase the socket with the reflector or heat tube but just the socket itself. Hopefully someone here can help me since the 16 year old boy they got working at home depot in electrical couldn’t answer me a darn thing. I also went to my local Hydroponic retailer, and they only sell the socket with the reflector or heat tube attached… so my only other option is to buy the socket in a hardware store, but just a bit confused on the matter on which socket suits me the best for this ballast.. I don’t want to burnout my bulb or cause a fire hazzard.
So am hoping someone here can help me on finding the socket I need.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I am very new to the gardening / food growing game, and had a few questions that i wondered if you could help with.

I am currently trying to grow form seed a range of Chilli’s (Twilight, World Beaters, Dorset Naga etc) and tomatoes (just the normal plant, no special variety).

My first question is about the tomatoes. I have seeded them in a propogator, and they have started to sprout out of the soil at which point i transferred to the windowsill. They are coming along nicely, but my question is, can I transfer them to a hanging basket so that they grow over the sides and grow downwards, or do you have to get a special variety for that?? I have seen them growing on the vine, hanging straight down from the basket, and that would be ideal for me.

Secondly the chilli’s are just starting to come through, does anyone have any tips on growing chilli’s? Any special methods that increase the size and the fruit etc??

Any help much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Alex.
